Planning A Charter Bus Vacation? 4 Essentials You Shouldn't Forget To Pack

by Isabella Stanley

You've decided to celebrate your eighteenth birthday with a solo bus trip across the US. Taking a ride on a charter bus is the perfect way to see the countryside. You don't have to bother with driving and you can sleep whenever you get tired. However, a charter bus trip does require some advanced planning, especially if you want to remain comfortable during the trip. While you're packing for your road trip, here are four things that you shouldn't forget.

Essential Toiletries

If you're going to be spending more than a day on your bus, you're going to need the essential toiletries. This is true even if the charter bus you're riding in has bathroom facilities. You never know when the bathroom is going to run low on the items you'll need. In addition to the basic hand sanitizer, toothbrush and toothpaste, you should also include the following hygiene items.

  • Toilet paper – in case they run out
  • Sanitizer wipes – for the toilet seats
  • Feminine Hygiene products – if you're female – even if it's not time

Sleep Aids

If you're going to be sleeping on the bus, be sure you've got everything you'll need to get comfortable. You're going to need a travel pillow and a comfortable blanket. You're also going to need some good ear plugs to help block out the noise so you can get to sleep. If you'd prefer, load your mp3 player with plenty of soothing music. Don't forget a pair of earphones so you can listen to your music without disturbing the other passengers. It's a good idea to pack an extra pair of earphones. You never know when your first pair is going to get lost or broken.

Safety Devices

If you're going to be traveling alone, you need to make sure that you have a few safety devices on hand for emergency situations. The first thing you should bring with you is a whistle. Your whistle will come in handy for alerting others if you're in a dangerous situation. You'll also need a small flashlight. This will ensure that you have access to lighting if you're outside the bus at night.

Emergency Clothing

Regardless of the season you'll be traveling, make sure you pack a few items that are geared toward weather changes. Packing a few heavy sweaters during the summer will keep you warm on unseasonably cool nights, while packing a few light t-shirts during the winter will keep you cool during an unseasonably warm day.

If you're going to be traveling across the country in a charter bus, make sure you're prepared for the adventure. The tips provided here will make sure you're ready to go. For more information, contact a business such as Werner Coach.
